    Six Injured Passengers Undergoing Treatment at CMCH

    Chattogram, July 19 (CTG Mail): One person was killed and six others were injured after a passenger bus overturned on the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway in Sitakunda on Sunday morning, according to hospital authorities.

    The accident occurred around 8:30 am in front of Ilyas Pump in the Chhoto Kumira Banshbaria area when a Jonaki Paribahan bus reportedly lost control and overturned while carrying passengers.

    Emergency responders rescued the victims and rushed them to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for treatment.

    Victims Taken to CMCH

    Hospital sources said seven people were brought to the emergency department following the crash.

    Doctors declared one unidentified man, believed to be around 30 years old, dead on arrival.

    The injured have been identified as Rowshan Akter (38), Mohiuddin (33), Mohammad Mannan (30), Sonia Akter (25), Arpita Saha (20), and Arif Md. Yusuf (51). They are receiving treatment at the hospital.

    Hospital Official Confirms Fatality

    Nurul Alam Ashik, in-charge of the police outpost at Chattogram Medical College Hospital, said doctors confirmed one death after the victims arrived at the hospital.

    He added that authorities are working to identify the deceased and inform the victim’s family.

    Police Investigating Cause of Crash

    Police said the exact cause of the accident has not yet been confirmed.

    Initial reports suggest the bus lost control before overturning on the roadside. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

    Road Safety Concerns

    The latest crash has once again highlighted concerns over road safety on the busy Dhaka–Chattogram Highway, one of Bangladesh’s busiest transport corridors. Authorities are expected to examine whether speeding, mechanical failure, or road conditions contributed to the accident.
