The Handover-Takeover and New Member Induction Ceremony for Lions Service Year 2026–2027 of the LIONS CLUB OF CHITTAGONG IMPERIAL CITY, one of the leading clubs of Lions District 315 B4, Bangladesh, was held on 23 August 2026 at Kacchi Express, GEC Circle, Chattogram.
The programme was organized in two sessions. The first session was chaired by Lion Shahtab Uddin Ahmed RICO, Outgoing President of the Club for Lions Service Year 2025–2026, while the second session was chaired by Lion Mohammed Jamal Hossain, President of the Club for Lions Service Year 2026–2027.
In the first session, Lion Md. Musleh Uddin Ahmed Opu, PMJF, Honorable Council Chairperson, Lions District 315, Bangladesh, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered an address. In the second session, Lion Md. Kamruzzaman Liton, PMJF, Honorable District Governor, Lions District 315 B4, Bangladesh, attended as the Chief Guest and addressed the gathering.
The programme was attended by Lion Parveen Mahmood FCA, PMJF, Vice District Governor, and Lion Md. Nasir Uddin, MJF, PDG, Chairman, Chattogram Lions Foundation, as Special Guests.
Among the distinguished guests were Lion Md. Belal Uddin Chowdhury, MJF, Cabinet Secretary, Lions District 315 B4; Lion Mohammed Musa, GLT District Coordinator; Lion Helal Uddin Ahmed, GST District Coordinator; Lion Professor Dr. Prakash Kumar Chowdhury, MJF, GMT District Coordinator; Lion Advocate Mohammed Nurul Islam, LCIF District Coordinator; and Lion Ashok Kumar Nath, Concern Region Chairperson.
The programme was conducted by Lion Md. Asif Uddin Bhuiyan, Club Director and Club Administrator, and Lion Jahedul Alam Sakib, Vice President of the Club.
At the beginning of the programme, Lion Muhammad Muradul Haque, Joint Secretary, recited verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a prayer and Munajat led by Lion Md. Mizanul Karim, Treasurer. The National Anthem was performed collectively, after which Lion Muhammad Obidur Rahman, Club Secretary, administered the Lions Pledge.
The welcome address was delivered by Lion Mohammed Abdul Matin, Region Chairperson, Past President and Director of Lions Club of Chittagong Imperial City.
Welcoming the newly inducted members, Lion Mohammed Rosangir Bachchu, Charter President and Club Director, delivered a goodwill address. Goodwill remarks were also delivered by Lion Dr. Abdullah Al Harun, MJF, Guiding Lion, Club Director and District Lions Quest Chairperson; and Lion Monjurul Ahsan Chowdhury, Club Director and Past President.
Goodwill and congratulatory messages were also exchanged by Lion Ahmed Saifuddin Chowdhury Mintu, MJF, Club Director and Past President; Lion Mohammed Elias, MJF, Club Director and Leo Club Advisor; Lion Nurul Arshad Chowdhury, Club Director and Past President; Lion Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Club Director and Past President; and Lion Dr. Mehfuza Razzaq, Club Director and Past President.

Leadership Transition and New Member Induction
In the presence of Lion Md. Kamruzzaman Liton, PMJF, District Governor, Lions District 315 B4, Bangladesh, the formal leadership transition of the Lions Club of Chittagong Imperial City took place, with Lion Shahtab Uddin Ahmed RICO, Outgoing President for Lions Service Year 2025–2026, handing over the leadership responsibilities to Lion Mohammed Jamal Hossain, President for Lions Service Year 2026–2027.
Two new members, Lion Amzad Hossain and Lion Zishan Jaisy Islam, were formally inducted into the Lions Club of Chittagong Imperial City.
A similar leadership transition was also conducted for the Leo Club of Chittagong Imperial City, with Leo Mohammed Omar Haider, President for Leo Service Year 2025–2026, handing over responsibilities to Leo Minhaj Uddin Mahmud, President for Leo Service Year 2026–2027.
Call for Unity, Commitment and Greater Service
Addressing the gathering, the speakers called upon Lions and Leos to remain united, uphold the spirit of Commitment, strengthen teamwork and expand the reach of Lionism through impactful and sustainable community service.
They emphasized that greater unity among members, effective leadership, meaningful service initiatives and strategic branding of Lionism would help enhance the visibility and social impact of the Lions movement.
The speakers also congratulated the newly elected leadership, newly inducted members and the Leo leadership, urging them to work collectively for the advancement of humanitarian service and the greater good of society.
