Chattogram, July 29 (CTG Mail): Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has announced comprehensive security measures for the Prime Minister’s Gold Cup National Football Tournament 2026, assuring players, officials and spectators of a safe environment during the competition scheduled to begin on August 9.

Ahead of the tournament, CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali inspected the competition venue and surrounding areas on Wednesday to review security arrangements and operational preparedness.

Commissioner Reviews Security Measures

Following the inspection, the police commissioner said CMP has taken all necessary measures to ensure the security of players, match officials, organisers and football fans throughout the tournament.

He said police personnel would perform their duties with professionalism, vigilance and close coordination to ensure the event is held peacefully and without disruption.

No Room for Security Lapses

The commissioner instructed officers assigned to the tournament to maintain the highest level of alertness, stressing that there would be no scope for negligence in implementing the security plan.

He said every member of the force has been directed to carry out assigned responsibilities efficiently to ensure the successful completion of the national football tournament.

Police to Deploy Comprehensive Security

According to CMP officials, sufficient police personnel will be deployed inside and around the stadium throughout the competition.

Security patrols, traffic management and law enforcement measures have also been planned to facilitate smooth movement for spectators while maintaining public safety around the venue.

CMP said it remains fully prepared to ensure that the Prime Minister’s Gold Cup National Football Tournament is held in a secure, orderly and festive atmosphere.

Senior CMP officials, including Additional Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Muhammad Faisal Ahmed, Additional Commissioner (Traffic) Hossain Mohammad Kabir Bhuiyan and other senior officers, accompanied the commissioner during the inspection.
