The Chattogram District Administration on Sunday held the monthly meeting of the District Development Coordination Committee, where officials reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects across the district and discussed measures to strengthen coordination among government departments.
The meeting was held at the conference hall of the Chattogram Circuit House and was chaired by Chattogram Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia. Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Sharif Uddin conducted the session.
During the meeting, participants reviewed the overall implementation of development activities and exchanged views on improving coordination among government agencies to ensure the timely execution of public projects. The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to complete ongoing development works within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality standards.
Special emphasis was placed on post-flood recovery efforts across the district. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia instructed the concerned authorities to expedite rehabilitation programmes for flood-affected communities and formally complete the distribution of cattle feed to support farmers affected by the recent floods.
The meeting also discussed measures to address the growing mosquito infestation and improve public sanitation. In line with government directives, the Deputy Commissioner called for a special cleanliness campaign to be carried out next Saturday at all government offices and official residential premises across the district to help ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
Among those present were Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, heads of various district-level government departments, senior officials, all Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs), and other officials of the district administration.
The monthly coordination meeting serves as a key platform for reviewing the implementation of government development programmes, resolving inter-agency issues, and ensuring coordinated administrative efforts across Chattogram.
