Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has instructed the newly appointed chairman of the Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) to ensure the swift and transparent implementation of development projects aimed at promoting planned urban expansion and improving civic amenities in Chattogram.

The directive came during a meeting with the newly appointed chairmen of nine development authorities at the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday afternoon.

The meeting, which began at around 5:30 pm, was the first formal policy and orientation session between the prime minister and the recently appointed chairmen.

During the meeting, the prime minister stressed the importance of planned urbanisation, timely execution of ongoing development projects, and the preparation of future development strategies to meet the growing needs of urban residents.

Among those present were CDA Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain, Khulna Development Authority (KDA) Chairman Advocate SM Shafiqul Alam Mona, Sylhet Development Authority (SDA) Chairman Rezaul Hasan Qayes Lodi, Cox’s Bazar Development Authority (CoxDA) Chairman Engineer Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Rajshahi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Md Abul Kalam Azad, Rangpur Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, Mymensingh Development Authority (MDA) Chairman Motahar Hossain Talukder, Cumilla Development Authority (CuDA) Chairman Udbatul Bari Abu, and Narayanganj Development Authority (NDA) Chairman Mashukul Islam Rajib.

The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects across the country and discussed future action plans to ensure sustainable and well-planned urban growth. The prime minister also emphasised transparency, accountability, and efficient project implementation to improve public services and the quality of life in urban areas.
