Chattogram-10 MP Saeed Al Noman has said the government remains committed to ensuring development for all and has already launched a range of humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving people’s welfare.

“The government has been in office for only five months. Large-scale development projects naturally take time to implement, but there has been no lack of sincerity in meeting people’s basic needs and standing beside the underprivileged,” he said.

The lawmaker made the remarks while addressing a rice distribution programme for underprivileged and destitute people at Haji Abdul Ali Government Primary School in Kazir Dighi Para under South Kattali Ward No. 11 on Saturday afternoon.

The rice was distributed under an allocation from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

Saeed Al Noman said the pace of development would become more visible in phases, while humanitarian assistance to ease people’s hardships would continue without interruption.

“The government’s goal is to build a Bangladesh where the benefits of development reach every citizen,” he said, adding that planned infrastructure development, employment generation and public welfare programmes were being implemented to achieve that objective.

He also stressed that supporting disaster-affected, low-income and disadvantaged people was not only the government’s responsibility but also a shared social obligation, urging affluent members of society to take part in humanitarian activities.

The programme was chaired by Jafar Ahmed, senior joint convener of South Kattali Ward No. 11, and moderated by Masum Bhuiyan, former joint convener of the ward BNP.

Among those present were former Pahartali Thana BNP general secretary Jasim Uddin Zia, Nazim Uddin, Razzak Khan, Harun, Harun Patowary, Abdur Rashid, Manjur Alam, Fazlul Haque Masud, Momin Chowdhury, Sohel, Md. Sahed, Md. Raihan, Delwar Hossain Bhola, along with local public representatives, political leaders and other distinguished guests.
