The 116th Jashne Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was held at Darbar-e-Betagi Astana Sharif in Rangunia, Chattogram, on Thursday, 27 August 2026, marking the 1,501st anniversary of the blessed arrival of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The programme was organized by Betagi Anjumane Rahmania under the direction of its founder, Pir-e-Tariqat Qutb-e-Zaman Allama Maulana Muhammad Zillur Rahman Ali Shah (RA). The event was held in accordance with the spiritual tradition established by Syedul Azam Hazrat Hafez Hakim Shah Muhammad Bazlur Rahman (RA), founder of Betagi Astana Sharif and a prominent spiritual figure associated with the anti-British movement in the Indian subcontinent.
The day-long programme was held in two parts. The first part featured a Jashne Julus, or commemorative procession, from Betagi Astana Sharif to the shrine of Sultanul Arifeen Hazrat Ashraf Shah Balkhi (RA) at Kadolpur. Students and guardians of Betagi Rahmania Jameul Uloom Senior Madrasa, local residents, devotees and disciples participated in the procession, with support from expatriate members and well-wishers.
The motorcade procession began at Betagi Astana Sharif and passed through Betagi Champatali, Tinchaudia, Pomra Shantirhat, Kaptai Road, Pahartali, CUET and important roads of Kadolpur before concluding at the shrine of Hazrat Ashraf Shah (RA). The procession was led by Pir-e-Tariqat Maulana Muhammad Golamur Rahman Ashraf Shah (M.A.J.A.), Sajjadanashin of Darbar-e-Betagi Astana Sharif, President of Betagi Anjumane Rahmania and Founder-Chairman of the Hijri New Year Celebration Council. He also addressed the gatherings in both parts of the programme and led the concluding prayer.
The second session began after Asr prayers with a Waz Mahfil moderated by Maulana Arifur Rahman Rashed. Among those who delivered religious discourses were Hazratul Haj Mawlana Muhammad Sirajul Islam Chishti; Allama Ilias Nuri, Principal of Betagi Rahmania Jameul Uloom Senior Madrasa; Allama Jasim Uddin Abidi, Vice-Principal of the madrasa; Allama Abdul Hai, Arabic Lecturer at Wajedia Alia Madrasa; Maulana Abu Jafar Maniki; Mufti Maulana Qutub Uddin of Narayanganj; Maulana Muhammad Abdus Shakur; Maulana Syed Junaid Qaderi; Maulana Tarequl Islam Al-Qaderi; and Maulana Mahfuzul Haque Al-Qaderi.
The gathering was attended by Maulana Aminul Haque Al-Qaderi, elder son of the Sajjadanashin of Hathazari Darbar Sharif, Allama Ghazi Sher-e-Bangla Azizul Haque Al-Qaderi (RA); Maulana Shahzada Syed Junnurain; Shahzada Abul Qasem; Shahzada Ahmad Ullah Muhammad Ziaur Rahman Abu Shah; Shahzada Shah Ahsan Ullah (Shahchand); Shahzada Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman (Mawlana);Shahzada Muhammad Obidur Rahman (Patan Shah), Shahzada Mohammad Aminul Haque Shah Hasan of Kadolpur Darbar Sharif; Muhammad Enamul Haque Siddiqui, Founder-General Secretary of the Hijri New Year Celebration Council; Maulana Ahmad Karim Naimi; Maulana Abu Jafar Badsha; Maulana Didarul Alam Chowdhury; Maulana Hafizur Rahman Rumi; Maulana Alauddin Nuri; Maulana Saiful Islam Nezami; noted organizer Aman Ullah Aman; and Maulana Abdur Rahim. Senior members of the Central Committee of Betagi Anjumane Rahmania were also present, including Mohammad Alamgir, Advocate Syed Rezaul Karim Babar, Mohammad Shamim, Mohammad Jamal Uddin, Mohammad Alam Shah, Mohammad Hashem Contractor, Bakhtiar Sowdagar, Dr Mohammad Yusuf, Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, Mohammad Harun, Master Delwar Hossain Saifu, Master Ehsanul Karim, Mohammad Solaiman, Shahzada Badruddin Muhammad Badrur Rahman Mohiuddin Jilani and Shahzada Abu Bakr Muhammad Siddiqur Rahman Saklain.
Representatives and Sahebzadas from various Darbars, as well as Ulema of Ahl-e-Sunnat, also attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers said Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent by Allah as Rahmatul-lil-Alameen—a mercy to all the worlds—and his blessed arrival marked the end of the era of Jahiliyyah. They emphasized that his life and teachings provide an exemplary model for promoting human unity, peace, compassion, justice, moral values and social harmony.
The speakers called for greater adherence to the Prophet’s teachings to strengthen peace, mutual respect and solidarity among people and communities. The programme concluded with Khatm-e-Khawajegan-e-Rahmania, Milad, Qiyam and Munajat. Shahzada Kamrul Arsh Muhammad Mahmudur Rahman Jilani conducted the Milad and Qiyam. Pir-e-Tariqat Maulana Muhammad Golamur Rahman Ashraf Shah (M.A.J.A.) led the Akheri Munajat, praying for the peace, prosperity and development of the country and its people, as well as for the students and teachers of the madrasa, relatives of Huzur Qebla, devotees and disciples, and the wider Sunni Muslim community.
